С политиката си на подкрепа спрямо новото украинско правителство министърът на външните работи на Република България Кристиян Вигенин взема страна в този конфликт без да отбележи, че това правителство се опира и на фашистките сили в Украйна. Това едностранно позициониране противоречи на интересите на България за добросъседски отношения с Русия. С оглед на традиционните си добри контакти с Русия страната ни има шанса да поеме ролята на мост между Западна и Източна Европа и с подобна политика този шанс бива проигран.
Партия „Българската левица” остро осъжда нападенията на фашистите и десните екстремисти спрямо членовете и офисите на Комунистическата партия и мирните граждани в Украйна. Настояваме властите да вземат всички необходими мерки тези нападения да бъдат предотвратени и виновните лица да бъдат привлечени към отговорност.
Считаме, че е необходимо незабавно да стартира диалог между ЕС, Русия и Украйна на равнопоставена основа. Напълно неуместна е заплахата за международна изолация на Русия. Европейската политика е немислима без принципно нова политика на ЕС по отношение на Източна Европа, в която да участва и Русия. Изход от кризата е възможен единствено чрез преговори между всички демократични политически сили в Украйна без участието на фашисти и десни екстремисти. Всяка проява на агресия или насърчаване на военен конфликт ще доведат до дестабилизиране на целия регион. Демокрацията и запазването на мира са единствения правилен път.

Ukraine. Any act of aggression or encouraging of a military
conflict could destabilize the whole region. It is still time to avoid
the war. Democracy and peaceful solution remains the only good path.
The emergency is the political dialogue between all involved forces - Ukrainian and foreign - under the auspices of the UN to stop the military spiral and the interference of foreign powers. This meeting should have taken place long ago. NATO must remain outside the process. Dialogue with Russia is essential for peace and political solution on the one hand, and for any EU policy in the region on the other. Cooperation must replace the struggle of influence.
We must now ensure that the Ukrainian people take control of its future through parliamentary elections, the establishment of a legitimate power in a strengthened democratic framework. The control of the country's resources and main choices for international cooperations must belong to the Ukrainians. The partition of the country can be avoided. The sovereign people can decide to make Ukraine an independent country, free of corruption, oligarchies and violence of the extreme right.
